Robert Wengler perfected the fine craftsmanship of rattan furniture-making and was known for challenging his materials in new ways. With its unique pattern and signature curves, the eponymous Robert Wengler Chair is a testament both to Wengler's skill and the inimitable quality of the rattan he used. Wengler´s dining chair was designed by Robert Wengler in 1902 and is today one of the pioneers in the rattan production. The chair is a part of the ICONS collection. ICONS is a series of furniture icons from known designers and architects. It is possible to purchase a cushion to the chair.
Each chair is handmade using the finest Malacca cane rattan. Rattan is strong, lightweight, flexible, and durable. Rattan is a natural climbing plant that grows in the Indonesian rainforest, without disturbing the existing structure and balance in the rainforest.
