Emery Vase - Blue

In collaboration with a group of artisan potters, we have been exploring variations in traditional shapes and colors. In the Emery Vase, artisans have elongated the body, narrowed the base, and widened the mouth creating a striking and graceful silhouetten which walks the line between modern and traditional. It's been painted with a blue glaze which is highly temperamental and varies in hue depending on the amount of oxygen in the kiln at any given moment. This introduces an element of chance and serendipity and makes each piece a truly unique cretion of nature, and a one-of a kind piece of art.
